General Description:

Dr. Zubayer Ahmed graduated from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College in 1998 with Merit Award from Chittagong University and then obtained M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) in Internal Medicine from BSMMU (Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University) in 2006. He got his Advanced Subspecialty Training and Clinical Fellowship in Rheumatology and Immunological disorders in Post Graduate Medical Institute of Singapore General Hospital (SGH-PGMI) in 2010 under the supervision of Prof Julian Thumboo and Prof Feng Pao Hsii.

Dr. Zubayer Ahmed is currently working as an Associate Consultant of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology in Square Hospitals Ltd. In addition to management of patients of Internal Medicine, he runs a dedicated Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology service in Square. Clinical services provided include General Rheumatology with special interests in Connective Tissue Disorders, e.g. SLE; Inflammatory arthritis e.g. Rheumatoid Arthritis; Ankylosing Spondylitis, Crystal-induced arthritis e.g. Gout & Pseudo-Gout; Degenerative arthritis e.g. osteoarthritis as well as inpatient management, including use of biologic agents in severe arthritis.
He has an extensive training in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases from BSMMU - Dept of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology under supervision of Prof Syed Atiqul Haq. He was also trained in Rheumatology with Prof Pierson of St. Thomas Hospital and Queens Hospital, London.

Dr. Zubayer has clinical and research interests in all form of Rheumatological and Connective tissue disorders including Early recognition and Comprehensive Management and Counseling in Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and Lupus Nephritis, Antiphospholipid Syndrome, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Scleroderma, Systemic Vasculitis, Osteoarthritis, Gout & Osteoporosis. He has actively participated at several regional and international scientific conferences.
