Prof. Dr. Sultana Razia Begum graduated from Mymenshingh Medical College and secured 2nd position with Honors in Surgery and Obstetrics and Gynecology.  In FCPS examination she passed it in the 1st attempt from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS).

Prof. S. R. Begum started practicing at the department of ObsGyn in Dhaka Medical College. Afterwards she joined Rajshahi Medical College as Assistant Professor and eventually promoted to the rank of Associate Professor and Professor of ObGyn. She chaired ObsGyn department of Rajshahi Medical College, Sher-e- Bangla Medical College and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). As a Professor of ObsGyn, she engaged in teaching under Graduate, Post Graduate, Masters and Fellowship level. She is the examiner of all the universities of the country, College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Prof. S R Begum conducts research by herself and supervises research works of FCPS and MS students. She attended innumerable workshops and conferences in different countries of Europe, USA and Asia. With over 30 years of experience Prof. S. R. Begum is one of the highly skilled Consultant of Square Hospital.
